In view of demographic and epidemiological developments and the ongoing professionalisation of the nursing profession nursing faces major challenges in the future. In addition a paradigm shift is also taking place in education away from purely informative learning and towards transformative knowledge acquisition with the application of global resources for problem solving and motivation for lifelong learning. This places high demands on training in theory and practice.
