<p>A 17-year-old boy living in Berlin in 1933 orphaned and barely making ends meet rises quickly through the ranks and becomes an SS officer. For the first time he feels needed by society - valued and strong. He begins a relationship with a girl and discovers in himself a powerful need to love and be loved.</p><p>Some time later he is reassigned to a concentration camp. There among the prisoners he finds his girlfriend and her father. Confronted with a personal crisis he overcomes his inner resistance and turns for help to one of the prisoners - a man who had worked as a therapist before the camp.</p><p>Will the prisoner help his guard?</p>
