This research investigation aims to develop theunderstanding necessary to overcomethe obstacles in the deformation & formingcharacteristics of wrought magnesium alloys. This has become of primary important during hotrolling where several deformation relatedproblems such as the limited strain per pass and therequired reduction schedulesleading to an increase in the required number ofpasses to achieve the final thickness. The application of the model should be very useful inthe real industrial environment ofwrought AZ31 hot rolling processes. The mainobjective of the project is to provideindustrially relevant advises to the manufacturers tooptimize their process parametersand increase their wrought alloys use in sheetproducts automotive structural componentsand other structural applications.
