Ether is class of organic compound with functional group R-O-R. The presence of Oxygen atom within the molecule justifies numerous reactivities that ether undergoes. Current researches revealed that when ethers are partially fluorinated can serve as aerosols deodorants cleaning agents and above all can serve as substantial substitutes for CFCs which are agents of Ozone depletion. The presence of Oxygen linkage between fluorinated ether accounts for their higher chemical reactivities in the atmosphere since CFCs were known to stay longer than necessary in the atmosphere thus result to depletion of Ozone.
