These Strange Times

These Strange Times a well worn phrase heard everywhere describing life during the COVID 19 pandemic contains poems which are almost a diary covering life from the beginning of the UK lockdown to the easing of restrictions between March and July 2020. The collection is also an exploration of memory with various past events and times emerging with a clarity similar to the pollution free skies which were experienced during this time. The Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis also receives attention in a renewed focus and protest against the celebration of Britain's imperial slave-trading past in statues and monuments.
