<p><strong>Description</strong></p><p><br> </p><p>The novel is told from the first-person perspective of John a quiet twenty-year-old hotel worker whose secret job is performing after-hours crime scene cleanup (Chapter 14).</p><p>Part I: The Intimacy and the Lie (Chapters 1-5)</p><p>The novel begins at a hotel where John observes the main staff: the gossiping confidante Lanny the nervous messenger Fanny the security guard Hugo and the central antagonist the womanizer San. John is an extra keeping his head down until Julie arrives stunning and secretive.</p><p>San immediately claims he will sleep with Julie but John develops a protective primal connection with her. Julie reveals she is lying to her serious boyfriend about where she works (Chapter 1). Julie initiates intimacy by asking John out confessing she is drawn to his kindness and lack of predatory behavior (Chapter 2). Their intense connection escalates rapidly on the beach and culminates in John's apartment where Julie reveals another dangerous secret: she prefers intercourse without a condom (Chapter 3 4).</p><p>The high-stakes affair establishes their intimacy but Julie's true intentions are hinted at when she feeds the staff a false story about needing help to move (Chapter 5 6).</p><p>Part II: The Web of Deceit (Chapters 6-10)</p><p>John catches Lanny and San discussing Julie's fake moving problem. When John confronts Julie she reveals she is feeding the staff a decoy story to distract them stating Everyone here John has an agenda. And I'm not the only one lying to my boyfriend (Chapter 6).</p><p>The web breaks open when John receives a text from Dan the quiet seemingly invisible receptionist stating: John. I know you slept with Julie. You have to stop. I'm her serious boyfriend (Chapter 7).</p><p>Julie confesses to John that she is actually a private investigator and Dan is her contact-a disgraced intelligence analyst-and her boyfriend cover was a necessary part of the job (Chapter 9). They are investigating a missing guest from six months prior. Dan's true role is revealed when he silently shows John the master key card confirming he has been tracking John and Julie (Chapter 8). Julie asks John to create a diversion so she can steal Lanny's diary which she believes holds the truth about the missing guest's fate (Chapter 9).</p><p>Part III: The Conspiracy and the Reveal (Chapters 11-15)</p><p>John creates a diversion by pitting San's ego against Hugo and Lanny (Chapter 10). The ensuing chaos exposes that Lanny has been having an affair with Hugo and that Hugo is blackmailing her with the diary. Hugo reveals the diary is a decoy and the missing guest was a smuggler whose true payload was a flash drive containing an encryption code (Chapter 11).</p><p>In the melee San focused only on winning grabs the flash drive and runs to Linda the silent bar lady for help (Chapter 11). Linda however pockets the flash drive and hands John an unmarked envelope from the missing guest. The note reads: John tell him I'll never give up the code. It's with the one who knows the music. (Chapter 12).</p><p><br> </p><p>The book ends with an explosive final clue: Dan's former firm used a specific chemical to partially dissolve the body in the maintenance closet (Chapter 14). John receives a final text from Fanny Lanny's nervous sister who admits she saw the body parts hidden and tells John to meet her in the basement setting up a direct confrontation with the final killer (Chapter 15).</p>
