Harry Dante comes home to Kansas City but he is a man lost in time. When he left it was the 1940s and he knew everything about everybody. Now it is the 1960s and he is a walking anachronism. He now has to deal with a new kind of gangster disappearing kids called hippies and the one thing he could not have expected: the dark shapes that are taking the youngsters may be vampires. The hard-boiled gumshoe has to adapt quickly or die the same way.
