Thinking at the crossroads

<p>Society in the West is now at a crossroads and is facing a stark choice – to evolve or degenerate. In these timely essays Advayacitta explores the predominant ideas and beliefs that  have shaped modern Western society and which have come from classical thought Christianity and physical science. He looks at how these have had both beneficial and harmful effects.<br />As a basis for healthy evolution he discusses the beginnings of a radical alternative to deeply flawed harmful Western ideas that come particularly from the nineteenth century – ideas that underpin much academic thinking as well as the entire political spectrum. This alternative is rooted in both the Buddha’s vision and the best in Western thought.</p>
