Thinking differently about intentionality

About The Book

The aim of the present work on the concept of intentionality is to account for the epistemological shift in a philosophy that focuses on mental states and social facts on the basis of intentionality. In this way intentionality is reduced to the realm of phenomenology. Intentionality is not only related to a single mental state (consciousness) but to all other so-called intentional mental states such as belief desire intention admiration and so on. It is also an indispensable instrument in the construction of social reality. From Searle onwards intentionality becomes a concept that ensures disciplinary connection.
