<I>This I Need To Know</I> is one writer's view of the descent of the western literary tradition. Writers and artists are but the scaffolding upon which our common literary heritage is built. Each of us places a brick in the edifice and then fades away leaving the structure enriched to the extent of the individual contributions.</p>Appendix I is the author's play <I>Oedipus on 11th Street</I> with a teaching guide that is both entertaining and valuable when teaching <i>Oedipus</i> in the classroom.</p>Appendix II is the author's play <I>Cannibals</I> with teaching guide based on the trilogy <I>The Oresteia</I> by Aeschylus. The play is an example of the adaptation of a classic Greek drama to the modern theater written in a pseudo-classical style.
