Humphrys began work for TransCanada in 1949 in an era when the industry was largely unregulatedand air travel was afforded by only the wealthy. Joining the company as an airline ticket clerk he honed his golf skills in off hours and practically stumbled upon the idea of becoming a pilot. Humphrys gives insight into the early days of commercial aviation in an industry that has seen tremendous change in the last sixty years. One of few pilots to experience an emergency crash landinghe shares the view from inside the cockpit.
