Mr. Sanford was a sawyer and farmer. In 1889 he moved to Spokane Wash where he went into the grocery business sell ing out in a year and a half to move to Bellingham Wash. Here he rented a large sawmill and carried on a successful business for some years. In 1894 he purchased a farm in Pomeroy Wash where the remainder of his life was spent. He was County Auditor of Garfield Co. For two terms. Mr. Sanford was an honest and respected citizen an efficient and industrious officer and a kind Christian man.
