About The Author: Maria Gasouka is an Assistant Professor at Aegean University in Greece where she teaches cultural and feminist subjects in the classroom and through distant learning at both a graduate and an undergraduate level. At the same time she is a researcher on Social Gender Education and Labor Market. She is the author of 9 books and she has published numerous scientific articles in the Greek and English language. She is engaged as an expert in the designing the implementation and the assessment of European Programmes and Union Initiatives and in this context she has recently cooperated with several Cypriot organizations of the public and private sector such as the Ministry of Justice Labor and Education. She is the designer of the National Plan of Action for Gender Equality (2006-2013) of the Republic of Cyprus and President of the Scientific Committee of the Observatory for Equality in Cyprus (PIK).Maria Kokkinou has studied Psychology (Bachelors Degree) Social Politics and Social Anthropology (Bachelors Degree) Education (Masters Degree) Education and Migration (Doctors Degree). She is the director of studies at a private school in Greece a special educator and a psychologist working with young children and their families and a journalist. She is the author of 7 books. She has published articles in numerous national newspapers and magazines and she has been training high school teachers. She has done research on education migration and social exclusion and recently she has been interested in research on gender equality.
