This Book presented the socio-economic characteristics of some Pastoralists and threats to rangeland resources of Adamawa State. Range site representatives (Gongoshi Guyaku and Chelekek range sites) of the two agro-ecological zones (Guinea and Sudan savanna) in the State were selected and delineated. Results of the socio-economic characteristics indicated that illiteracy level was 83.8% excluding the range managers. The respondents other than the range managers are pastoralists and transhumance in nature. Results of respondents’ income range from N 500.00 - N 20000.00 weekly. The threats with the highest severity indices are over-exploitation of forage resources conflicts invasion by undesirable plant species drought diseases and pests. Others are settlement policy population increase bush fire and rangeland policy. The study recommends that adequate policy and institutional arrangements be put in place by governments at all levels for the proper management and conservation of Adamawa rangelands.
