<p>Angela J. Reynolds' debut novel for middle-grade readers takes us to a coastline in Cape Breton where there are crises on dry land and the seals in the water are much more than they seem. Terra has to navigate a family crisis involving the illness of her younger brother which is why she is away from the family and spending the summer with friends in Cape Breton and a remarkable discovery in the waters nearby.
