Through My Eyes

Ms Vicky McCarthy Keane is an Irish solicitor and writer. After being diagnosed with motor neuron disease she began writing poetry through eye-gaze technology. The result is Through My Eyes a collection that is both richly allegorical and viscerally personal. Be still my friend for I shall follow you now/shroud me in your eternal grip - so writes McCarthy Keane in her opening poem addressed to the ethereal figure that haunts so many of her verses. Through My Eyes hints at a battle with fate richly imagined in the form of a journey but the collection is also dappled with light and hope with the final poem Sunset over Fanore beautifully signalling towards a paradise regained.
