Throw Down Your Weapons

<p>The first collection ever released from singer/songwriter Blake Cateris Throw Down Your Weapons is a reflection of and rumination on life. A collection of pieces about many themes and ideas all at once; among them music creating art growing up falling-in and out of-love with yourself the world around you and other things and people that you hold dear - it's about wants needs art and growth.</p><p><br></p><p>The true aspiration of art-</p><p>should be to reduce the need for it.</p><p>For it to crawl through our capillaries</p><p>and imbue our very being</p><p>so that we may feel its absence.</p><p><br></p><p>These pieces of poetry and prose bound together in this here collections are a mosaic of meanderings that an inherently hyperactive mind had through a perplexing and unprecedented time locked up with nowhere to go and nothing to do. My aim with them is to stoke the embers of thought that bristle in your brain to encourage discussion and the exploration of ideas and feelings. They are intentionally non-inflammatory-there is enough blind conditioned and propagandised hatred in the world I don't believe there is any need for me to contribute to or perpetuate this.</p><p><br></p><p>Let's be gallant let's be gracious</p><p>let's be mentors and leaders</p><p>let's be every little thing</p><p>that our younger selves needed.</p>
