Xanthe Charles was born with a severe congenital heart defect. She is shy and lacks confidence after spending much of her childhood in and out of hospital undergoing life-saving surgeries. A non-identical twin she has grown up in her sisters shadow and in the over-protective care of her strict Catholic parents. At 26 now a nurse at the local childrens hospital and craving independence she finally decides to leave home. She manages to afford a place of her own and thought life couldnt get any better... until she meets her neighbour Charlie Brooke. Unbeknown to Xanthe hes a local celebrity and regular performer in a Las Vegas show. As the relationship grows so does Xanthes confidence. Their rollercoaster romance has the makings of a true fairy tale until an ironic twist of fate leaves Xanthes heart even more broken than when she was born.
