This collection of twenty-one addresses is arranged in the biblical order of the principal texts referred to. C H Spurgeon was a master at showing Christ in every part of the Scriptures and this is particularly evident here whether he is drawing from the imagery of the Song of Solomon and Isaiah or from the New Testament. Some of the messages were delivered to the massed congregation at the Metropolitan Tabernacle whilst others were given to more intimate groups when he was recuperating at Mentone in the south of France. In these addresses he shares a little of his own battles and the solid ground to which he always turned to settle his mind. The preciousness of Christ and His work of atonement should be frequent themes for meditation for all believers and Spurgeon's clarity of thought and rich variety of compelling illustrations exalt the Saviour and promote the reality of our spiritual union with Him. C H Spurgeon (1834-1892) was the pastor of the church that became the Metropolitan Tabernacle in south London where thousands found salvation and from which many other gospel causes trace their beginnings. Published posthumously in 1896 as a means of fulfilling Spurgeon's own wish to publish his communion messages this edition has been completely re-typeset for issue as an eBook.
