The accumulation of wealth power and resources in ever fewer hands a process that has been going on since the dawn of history has produced poverty war and degradation and has led us to the threshold of an unprecedented social political and environmental crisis. If not effectively corrected economic inequality threatens democracy acquired rights and freedoms erodes societies and due to its environmental impact puts the very future of humanity on earth at risk. In Time for Action economic inequality is discussed in its multiple aspects ̶ social political but also historical and environmental. Historical processes are analyzed in their essential aspects and integrated into the development of human history that encompasses the world of today and that stretches with all its risks lights and shadows towards the future.The book intends to contribute to a reflection on what we are and what transforms us as well as to be an appeal to solidarity social justice and sustainable coexistence.
