TO BE A LIVING KIDNEY DONOR

A pandemic and a dramatic event in one of our Nephrology wards have led us to write this book.Receiving a kidney transplant is the best gift that can be given to our patients with chronic kidney disease. Many of these transplants come from cadaveric donors with the possibility of a living donor kidney transplant. But what happens when someone totally healthy loses a part of him/herself to improve the quality of life of someone else who is ill? Is living kidney donation totally ethical? What does the donor think? What are his/her fears worries and expectations?With this book we aim to answer all these questions.
