To Be or not to Be? The Dysphoria of Gender in Childhood

The problem between sex and gender is a conflict that has repercussions in many fields of science including Medicine Psychology and Education being the focus of the study of authors such as Sigmund Freud and Jean Piaget. Childhood is a time of discovery for the child. But how should parents act when the child believes that it is biologically what it is not but psychologically acts as if it were? This is a disorder of identity known as Dysphoria of Gender or popularly Transexuality. Whose person believes he belongs to his opposite sex not to his biological sex. The book presents some considerations on the concept of Dysphoria of Gender in human development from childhood to some traits of adulthood highlighting how parents should deal with the child transsexual as well as the process of understanding of being male or female.
