<p>To Speak of Grasses is a 2025 collection of poetry by Australian poet Kathryn Fry following previous collections<span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)> published by Ginninderra Press: </span><em style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>Green Point Bearings</em><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)> (2018) and </span><em style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>The Earth Will Outshine Us</em><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)> (2021). </span></p><p><em>To Speak of Grasses</em> concerns itself through the extensive use of imagery with the realms of nature music art and the emotional landscape of close relationships some spanning several decades.</p><p></p><p>The three sections are:</p><p>'Suspended': as poems of witness mainly to the natural world in places on the west and east of this country;</p><p>'In the Company of Lovers' which has poems about music art and current close personal relationships;</p><p>and 'Walking Each Other' with its emphasis on the legacy of past experiences.</p><p></p><p>(Jenny Blackford)</p><p>Kathryn Fry's poems in <em>To Speak of Grasses</em> combine admirable precision with equally impressive lyricism. Her clear loving descriptions of the natural world are carefully scientific as well as poetic.
