Tobe and the River Is

Tobe’s world was turned upside down by the light that hovered over him as he slept in the meadow. And days later as the flames of his burning house licked at the early morning sky he turned east on the path giving up his world as he knew it into the darkness of the unknown and in the direction of a place he had only heard wild and fantastic tales about a place called “Inlakesh.” He was determined to go to find the living River Is and The Great Fish and to see the land of Inlakesh with his own eyes “if it even really exists.” As Tobe walked little did he suspect that “it was no natural world through which he was traveling now. Each step was taking him deeper into the mind and where the real world ended and his mind began he could no longer tell apart.” And the challenges of mischievous dark holes and the encounter with the Bubble People still lay ahead and beyond that the lure of the carnival “Phantasmagoria.” Is it even possible he could make it to Inlakesh—a land that exists in another dimension when this world holds such a firm grasp upon him? And what would he be like if he were ever to return to Sonadora his village that stands on the edge of the world?
