Children are our future. They are going to be leaders of tomorrow. Children also represent our hope for a better future. Children of today will make the India of tomorrow.There are 472 million children in India under the age of 18 years representing 39% of the country’s population. Children have all the potential to change the World.The wealth of a Nation is not so much in its economical and natural resources but it lies more decidedly in the kind and quality of the wealth of its children and youth. It is they who will be the creators and shapers of a Nation’s tomorrow.Children’s brains are almost 90% developed by the time they are 3 years old. During these years they spend most of their time with their parents at home. Hence parenting plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s overall development. A father’s contribution is important but a mother’s role is the most significant and she is the primary influence in a child’s life.14th November is the birthday of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru which is celebrated as Children’s Day. It is an important event not only for children but also for parents and teachers as this day celebrates the spirit of childhood and reminds us that our children need to be loved and cared for.Right kind of education is the first step towards the upliftment of children. The education provided should be progressive in keeping with needs of the society and to create great human beings.
