Tom Swift and His Wireless Message; Or The Castaways of Earthquake Island

Tom Swift and his friends Ned Newton and Bud Barclay travel to Earthquake Island a remote and mysterious island that is said to be home to earthquakes and other natural disasters. Tom is interested in studying the island''s geology and he has also invented a new wireless telegraph machine that he wants to test out. Once on the island Tom and his friends discover that it is indeed a dangerous place. They are caught in an earthquake and they are also attacked by a group of pirates who are living on the island. Tom and his friends are eventually shipwrecked on a small island off the coast of Earthquake Island. They use Tom''s wireless telegraph machine to send a message for help and they are eventually rescued. Tom Swift and His Wireless Message; Or The Castaways of Earthquake Island is an exciting adventure story that is full of action and suspense. It is also a good introduction to the Tom Swift character and his world. The book was adapted into a television series in 1954. The series starred Robert Shayne as Tom Swift and it ran for one season.
