As the daughter of an Afro-Brazilian father and a White American mother Selena Texeira knows what it's like to be different even in diverse Salvador City Brazil. At the Federal University of Bahia Selena meets the lovely Jamila Ahmed a Hijab-wearing young Muslim woman of Somali descent originally from the City of Minneapolis Minnesota. The two of them fall in love but things are quite dicey. Selena's parents Caesar and Elisabeth Texeira are totally accepting of their favorite outspoken tomboy. Jamila's parents Khadija and Awaleh Ahmed back in America will kill her if they ever discover she likes girls. Selena and Jamila's growing love is strained by Jamila's fears. Can these two unique young women make their budding relationship work ?
