A planetary epidemic has ravaged the human race leaving few survivors. Doctors Shift Bader and Anta Chalthoum previously isolated underground lead a small team to the surface to begin rebuilding a shattered world. As they rise to search for the living they finally see the devastation first-hand and soon realize that survival was only the beginning of their struggle.A new peril emerges - not a mindless bacterium but a focused calculating opponent determined to destroy those who remain.
