In quiet Britannia Bay a beloved but frail choir director dies unexpectedly seemingly of natural causes. A family member however accuses the local arts reporter of being responsible for her death. Shortly after the reporter is found dead during what appears to be a botched robbery. But is it? And who is she really? And are the deaths linked? And what is the connection between the victim and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service?Detective Sergeant Ray Rossini goes off to Italy with his family believing the case is cold if not closed. Upon learning more about the victim his partner D.S. Jimmy Tan has his doubts. He has been piqued by the strange antics of a mysterious woman who attended the choir directors memorial service. Believing she might be key to the puzzle he follows the tenuous lead and suddenly nothing is as it seems.
