Tortillas Con Mantequilla

<p>Licha's homemade flour tortillas are well known by all her family and friends and she has been making them for years. Eating homemade tortillas with mantequilla or butter is a tradition in Sebastián's family. Sebastián is Licha's great-grandson and he gets to learn how to make perfect circle shaped tortillas just like Licha! There will be some challenges along the way for Sebastián but Licha teaches him the importance of practice and patience. Sebastián is determined to make the tortillas just like Licha and will not give up until he does so. Come and share a special day with Licha and her great-grandson Sebastián while he attempts to make his first batch of tortillas!</p><p> </p><p>Jaclyn Garcia is Mexican American and grew up eating her grandmother's homemade tortillas and now her children get to do the same. This is Jaclyn Garcia's first children's book which was inspired by her son Sebastián and pays homage to her grandmother. It was very important to Jaclyn to create a bilingual book in Spanish and English for the Latino community. Many families nowadays are raising bilingual children and this book will continue to encourage that. Her grandmother is currently 94 years old and still makes her famous homemade flour tortillas.</p>
