Toxicity study of Diethyl phthalate on Clarias gariepinus fingerlings

In recent times the awareness of pollution of aquatic environment is widespread problems. the condition is mainly deriving from discharges of different types of pollutants to rivers and lakes of which Diethylphthalate (DEP) is one of the pollutants.Diethyl phthalate (DEP) is used as a plasticizer a detergent base in aerosol sprays as a perfume binder and after shave lotion. It is known to be a contaminant of fresh water and marine ecosystem. DEP has been seen to affect the heamatology biochemical and tissue damages in the fish. These alterations can have a long term effects on that are continously exposed to low doses of DEP in the aquatic environment.
