Trail of the Eagles

Katherine Stafford is an independent forensic investigator who is lured away from her Miami life back to rural South Dakota to help an old friend solve a murder of an old sheepherder. The line between Indian and rancher still exists as Kate travels the towns in South Dakota and realizes one can never really go back home. With oil workers and fossil hunters combing the lands Kates job becomes that much more difficult when the locals accuse an Indian of committing the murder.
