Training needs of farm women involved in agriculture in Nepal

The success and failure of training depend upon the participation of actual doers which has been perceived as a lacking in the present context. So present study of Training need assessment of farmwomen involved in agricultural was undertaken to identify the training needs of farmwomen with other related aspects like venue time duration socio-cultural problems and the relationship of personal characteristics with their knowledge in different improved packages of practices. Information for the study was collected through structured close and open-ended questionnaire by survey approach. The knowledge of respondents was measured in 4 point scale 0123 for no knowledge slight knowledge moderate and full knowledge respectively. The training need score of individual was calculated by subtracting the existing knowledge from the full knowledge of individual and finally the level of training were identified. The study revealed that the farmwomen had very poor knowledge in improved packages of practices in both crops; especially in plant protection measures than agronomical practices and had a high priority area for training.
