Transfinity - A Source Book

Transfinity is the realm of numbers larger than every natural number. This book presents the foundations of transfinite set theory reviewing a vast amount of material covering all aspects from its creator Georg Cantor to modern theory. Most importantly the great difference between potential and actual infinity often concealed in modern treatments is scrutinized in much detail. In the main part several hundreds of statements of scholars with critical attitude toward set theory have been collected and a diversity of arguments challenging set theory under different aspects are presented. Finally MatheRealism a new theory without need of infinity is presented.
