Transformation of consciousness in Michel Butor's Modfication

The aim of this work is to study the transformation of the character''s consciousness in Michel Butor''s Modification from a semiotic perspective. The aim is to retrace the subject''s pragmatic cognitive and passionate journeys in order to gain a better understanding of the shifting nature of his consciousness during his journey from Paris to Rome. The work also looks at the aesthetic question of the text accompanying the transformation of the subject''s consciousness.
