Treasures of the Heart

Dear Reader It was a cold winter day in January when all our family and friends gathered for our fathers funeral. It was a wonderful service my sister had put together a beautiful video portraying our fathers life that brought both laughter and tears to everyone.Afterward my sister asked the Pastor to pray for us so we found a quiet corner and the Pastor prayed a prayer over my brother sister and I. I dont remember the words to that prayer but I do know that everything changed for me after that.When I got back home I dug out my old Bible and dusted it off. I remember tossing it down on our small kitchen table and saying out loud to myself Now I will find out just exactly what God has to say...about everything.I devoured that Bible I couldnt stop reading. And when I was finished the first time I started again a second time. God was telling me exactly what he had to say about everything.I never wrote poetry before but poems and psalms began to fill my mind and as they did I wrote them down. Each one portrays a moment of time as I learned of his love and his Word for out of the mouth flow the treasures of the heart.
