Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by disturbances of electrical activity in the brain and recurrent unprovoked seizures. This abnormal electrical activity may result in a variety of events including loss of consciousness abnormal movements atypical or odd behavior or distorted perceptions that are of limited duration. Verapamil and olanzapine possess antiepileptic effects through their action on oxidative stress electrolyte levels and neurotransmitter receptors.
