TRIAGE A REVIEW OF PATIENT CATEGORIZATION

This review provides an overview of the classification of seriously ill or injured patients. Healthcare systems should make greater efforts to improve sensitivity and minimize mortality rates of critically ill patients so that they receive prompt and timely care. The ultimate goal of triage is to predict the severity of illness and to organize the flow of patients to emergency departments.
