Trial KAMERHE Judicial Obscurantism

This section presents an analysis of the first instance judgment of the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Kinshasa - Gombe in the case of the Public Prosecutor''s Office and the civil party DRC against Vital Kamerhe et al. In the absence of any evidence in 2020 this Court sentenced Kamerhe to 20 years of hard labor. Having appealed to the Court of Appeal of Gombe Vital Kamerhe saw his sentence reduced to 13 years in 2021. When he arrived at the Court of Cassation the former Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic benefited from a decision of cassation with referral in 2022 before being acquitted on Thursday June 23 2022 by the same Court of Appeal of Gombe otherwise composed for lack of proof of misappropriation of public funds.
