<p>The fort of Vercovicium on Hadrian s great wall is not an inviting place at the best oftimes even less so after a murder.</p><p>Centurion Carinus is therefore less than enthusiastic when ordered to the northernfrontier to investigate the murder.Carinus soon finds that his presence at the fort isunwelcome.</p><p>When his own life is threatend by people who have more than just the murder of oneman to hide the Centurion fights back and shows he can be just as ruthless in his questfor the truth.</p>
