<p><em>Trust and Change </em>explains exactly what happens in a therapeutic community (TC). It deals with commonly asked questions and looks at the ‘four basic pillars’ of TC work — democratisation tolerance communality and reality confrontation — as well as the ‘no secrets’ principal (or ‘footstool’) and trust. It emphasises the need to encourage a culture of enquiry as well as practical aspects of management record-keeping and audit. Throughout the book contains ‘Thinking Points’ and gives examples of typical structures and schedules together with the aims purposes and rationale of the TC as a living-learning experience.</p>
