<p><em>Trusting the Inscrutable Ways of Providence: George Washington's Spiritual Path to Joy examines the spiritual life and formation of George Washington. </em>Even though the world recognizes George Washington's vision achievements and indisputable contribution to the Great Experiment of democracy this book addresses his struggles and losses as well. It examines how his faith was formed in the midst of them.</p><p><br></p><p>These chapters trace his very human lifelong process of spiritual formation much of which occurred in the context of a tolerant moderate Anglican (Church of England) ethos and theology. Washington's faith evolved over time from a simple yet grounded childhood faith to maturation -- through the struggles of young adulthood the losses of middle age and the joys and regrets of old age. </p><p> </p><p>Through every stage and each life experience Washington was gradually transformed into a genuine wisdom figure grounded in a mature and abiding faith and known for his integrity of life.</p>
