Tulips & Chimneys

E. E. Cummings was born in Cambridge Massachusetts in 1894. He has always enjoyed composing poetry. The summers were spent in New Hampshire with his family. At Harvard he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in the arts. His tranquil life subsequently underwent a shift. He joined the ambulance corp in Paris when World War One started. He experienced the worst that a conflict can provide. He was then kept in a military detention cell as a result of his escalating anti-war views. He was at last set free. After returning home he published this volume of poetry a few years later.
