About The Book

“Turbulent Times Marvelous Memories” highlights Colonel Ramanan Duraiswami’s unique ability to chronicle significant current events in verse capturing the moods of the moment and also offering glimmers of hope and cheer in a grim scenario. This book is unique in that it contains the only poems ever written about the daring night rescue operation carried out by the IAF in Sudan and the terrible train tragedy in Balasore Orissa both of which were composed within 48 hours of the respective events. The latter poem has been written as an epitaph to the victims of the train tragedy. Other poems are throwbacks to childhood days and poems about the iconic FIFA World Cup of 2022 which captured the imagination of the entire planet. There are also poems with philosophical messages and odes to India’s beautiful cities and towns. About the Author: Colonel Ramanan Duraiswami is an alumnus of Springdales School New Delhi and the Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He is a Paratrooper and a Pathologist. He has already published two books of poetry “Pensive Ponderings” and “The COVID Chronicles” which have been critically acclaimed.
