Turnstijl Houses & Cannoli Framing

Beginning with introductory studies of type house typology structure classification and manufactured houses this work proposes a generative system for creating unique detached houses. Three diverse outcomes dubbed the Turnstijl Houses are featured whose schematic and programmatic variation illustrate the potential of such an approach. Also presented is the development design and partial fabrication of the Cannoli Framing System a hybrid structural insulated panel (SIP) and laminated-stud (Lam) framing typology. Conceived and manufactured using contemporary production techniques many scale models and prototypes of the system are documented within as are preliminary structural tests at full scale.
