What does it mean for a religion to be “true”? Have you ever found yourself in a situation where this question became a matter of life or death or at least of sanity or madness? I have. A combination of personal history self-examination and dialogue with the thoughts writings and experiences of others this book is an account of how in part during a crisis that erupted out of a precipitous decision to enter Islam in 1995 and in part through the lessons learned over the years that followed I discovered as a Muslim how to re-own the Christian faith the seeds of which were planted in my youth. Beyond this it tells the story of how out of this re-owning of my Christian faith I came to embrace a broader ecumenical spirituality in which I continue to progress toward recognition of and reconciliation with my most genuine self.
