Un-Americanism in High School Textbooks

It is regrettable but true that the average American patriot has little conception of the extent to which high school textbooks have been tainted and contaminated with un-American propaganda. While it is generally known that there are such things as pro-Soviet textbooks in use in some of our schools the common tendency has been to pooh-pooh and belittle the red menace in education by claiming that communistic textbooks and teachers exist only in rare and isolated instances. Only a tiny minority are un-American and therefore there is nothing for parents and patriots to become concerned about. That has all too frequently been the prevailing attitude.
