Understanding Botany

Botany is a vast discipline that covers all aspects of plant life: morphology growth and reproduction ecology and interactions with the biotic and abiotic elements of plant ecosystems. Botany is taught from the earliest years in Biotechnology Biological Sciences Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences with a presentation of the major plant groups in terms of their nature and functional properties their place and role in the biosphere and their major evolutions at the origin of their current biodiversity. The aim of this book is to give future botanists and biotechnologists the knowledge and skills they need to understand the plant world and its many applications in biotechnology.
