Understanding Early Childhood Care and Education

Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) sometimes known as nursery education focuses on educating children from infancy to eight. This topic is appropriate for children as young as one year old and as old as eight years old. Another word for this would be the education given to children in the first year they are enrolled. This extends through the years starting with kindergarten and extending through the third grade as is customary in the industry. Early Childhood Care and Education also referred to as ECCE for short is one of the many facets of the current education system that will go through significant changes due to the implementation of the National Education Policy also referred to as NEP. These changes will take place as a direct result of the performance of the NEP. It is designed to encourage early cognitive development in children and is intended for use in playschools and kindergartens in more rural locations.
