Glimpses at the preambles to several constitutions of the world are intended to help readers to understand the purposes and goals set out by various countries as to what is intended to be achieved by the citizens from the constitution of their respective countries.Focus is then shifted to the Constitution of India the historical background from the time of arrival of British traders setting up the East India Company followed by the governance of India by the British Crown the freedom movements the actual drafting of the Indian Constitution the significance of the artworks that decorates constitution document the demarcation of partition boundaries. An attempt is made to explain the main body of the Indian Constitution or Bharatiya Sambidhan part by part followed by giving the reader an idea of what is contained in the schedules to the Indian Constitution and finally why and how amendments to the Constitution are made.
